Carrier offers three different series of air conditioners: Performance, Infinity, and Comfort. The Performance series is a middle-end unit, with a SEER rating of 13-17 (ex: carrier 13 seer air conditioner). The Infinity series are high-end systems that are about 20% more efficient than the other series and have an average SEER rating of 19-21. These units are quiet and are great for people who are sensitive to noise. The Comfort series are great for short-term housing, in which they have a SEER rating of 13-14. These units are a bit louder than the others but are more affordable and preferred for homeowners on a budget.
